Whiteweld Foundation hosts Ski weekend extravaganza at Windham mountain

NEW YORK, NY
– The Whiteweld Foundation, dedicated to promoting the health, education, and welfare of children throughout the United States and abroad, hosted a festive weekend at New York's Windham Mountain on February 26 and 27. The event was planned to build awareness for The Whiteweld Foundation Concert Series, which raises funds on behalf of children's charities.

The Whiteweld "party tent" was set up near Windham's popular and active ski lifts, and all weekend long there was a live DJ pumping tunes, free popcorn and snack food, and raffle giveaways every hour. The public had many chances to win, and also learn more about the very successful, ongoing Concert Series that The Whiteweld Foundation sponsors. Earlier in February, Vanessa Williams took the stage at Carnegie Hall and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons performed in Sparta, New Jersey, both benefiting the survivors of the Asian tsunami disaster.

With brisk temperatures and plenty of snow, the skiers flocked to Windham and made Whiteweld's party atmosphere all the more festive. The Grand Prize, a set of skis from the European high-performance manufacturer Volkl, was won by Aaron Swedberg, a sixteen-year-old sophomore at Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River, New Jersey. Many great ski runs are expected to follow.

Linda E. Bovino and Linda A. Bovino, members of the Board of The Whiteweld Foundation and among its Founders, were on hand to award the prizes and act as official hosts.

The Whiteweld Foundation has been active in fulfilling its goal of supporting children around the country and around the world. Monies raised by the Foundation go to community services, health initiatives, scholarships, cultural arts programs, and other outreach programs that improve the lives of children. The Concert Series serves a dual purpose, giving back to the community by offering an evening of great entertainment at the same time it raises money for the Foundation's charitable work.
